Governor, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has recommended stronger partnership with security agencies to combat crimes and other vices in the state.
Mohammed made the suggestion when he received heads of some security outfits in his office, at Government House, Bauchi, yesterday.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Governor, the Commander of the School of Armoured, Nigeria Army in Bauchi, Major Gen. Adewale Adekeye, acknowledged the cordial relationship with the Military and the civil authority

On his part, Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Ali Aminu lamented the high prevalence of drug abuse in Bauchi State.
Aminu disclosed that 366 suspects were arrested between June 2022 and June 2023, using different types of hard drugs.
He said that over 100 of the suspects are facing trials in the courts.
“I’m appealing with the state government to assist us with logistics such as operational vehicles,” he said.
Governor Mohammed however, charged the Agency to increase its awareness campaign to tame the menace of drug abuse and trafficking
He regretted that drug abuse was ravaging the lives of productive young citizens.
He attributed the high drug intake to the influx of people from different states of Northern regions to Bauchi due to the “relative peace”.
Meanwhile, the new Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ilelaboye Oyejide, spoke on the increase in the activities of illegal miners in the State.
Oyejide assured the Governor that his intelligence team would bring all of them to book and ensure that kidnappers do not have a space in the state.
Governor Mohammed urged the Corps to penetrate more of the grassroots of the state to bring out the perpetrators of crimes to law. He pledged to work in synergy with the Commandant to make the state safe for the people.
