Battered economic affecting creative industry – Starry

Nigerian singer-songwriter Starry Ogbonna, popularly known as Starry, has decried difficulties faced by the creative industry in Nigeria, particularly music artistes.

Starry, a budding sensation of Afro fusion music, in a statement yesterday said the current economic challenges was greatly affect their ability to fully showcase their potential.

The artiste, who is establishing herself as a formidable voice in the global music market, said “this economy and music industry has a crazy way of affecting the creativity of the most committed entrepreneurs, especially music artists.

“The continuous effort of the average Nigerian to keep being optimistic/ saying “e go better” is not requiring more energy than we might have.”

Starry discovered her love for music at the age of five while singing in church choir and family events.

Her passion for music and competitive spirit has made her a global sensation.

This is manifest in her clinching the “Best/Most Talented Singer” award in the prestigious “Voice Of The Streets” competition.
