Cruiserweight champion, Bashiru Ali has blasted critics of his proposed Guinness World record chase.

Some Nigerians had lashed at Ali’s endorsement by former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Ganduje when he paid a visit to the new All Progressive Congress (APC) chairman, in Abuja at the weekend to support his 17-year dream project.

In response to some of the critics, Bash Ali said matter how long he takes him to realise his dream, he would never give up rather will he give up in having the fight in Nigeria.

“Why is it that when a Nigerian wants to do something great his number one opponents are the Nigerians who are supposed to support him, Ali said hysterically.

He added; “If I were a white man in a white country I would have received unlimited support to rewrite boxing history but not in my country, Nigeria. Shame on Nigerians!! Most people can’t pursue their dreams for a year without giving up not to talk of pursuing a dream for 17 years.

“I know that many people give up on their dreams and die with it but I am an extraordinary man. So I will accomplish my dream and continue to fight till I am 70 years old, retire young and healthy with a lot of money and then go into politics and become the President of Nigeria,” he said.

The Edo State born pugilist said he remains resolute to write his name in the boxing Hall of Fame, adding that since he started his campaign for global fame, he has not received any financial support from the government of Nigeria.

“I am going to shock the world by rewriting boxing history and make all my critics my disciples. Mark my words and get ready to be part of boxing history and for the big leagues. This is my goal.

“And for your information, the Federal Government of Nigeria has never given me a kobo since I embarked on this Guinness World Record Boxing Championship Fight instead I have spent billions of naira of my money. It is on record. You can commend me or condemn me. The choice is yours,” he said.
