•As PSG monitoring Nigerian star striker closely
With Robert Lewandowski’s contract expiring at the end of the season, FC Barcelona appears to be planning for life after the star striker, with no indications of a potential renewal.
Finding a top striker has become a key target for Barcelona’s sporting department, led by director Deco, with several names being considered.
According to Mundo Deportivo journalist Gabriel Sans on Radyospor, Barcelona has added Galatasaray and Nigerian hitman, Victor Osimhen to its shortlist of strikers for 2026.
Osimhen, 26, is one of the most accomplished centre-forwards in European football, and he is entering the prime years of his career.
Sans stated, “Barcelona needs a very good centre-forward and is looking for one for next season. It’s uncertain whether Lewandowski will stay; he’s 37 years old and currently injured, so it’s unclear how he will return. From this perspective, Victor Osimhen is a player Barcelona wants, that’s certain. However, there have been no meetings, discussions, or negotiations between the parties. Osimhen is definitely on Barcelona’s transfer list today, but we need to consider Lewandowski’s situation and how his future at the club may unfold. Osimhen is all about goals and success. Yes, Barcelona is closely monitoring him.”
Gabriel Sans also mentioned that Juventus international Kenan Yıldız is another player on Barcelona’s radar, stating, “Yıldız is also on the transfer list; however, Barcelona’s current financial situation doesn’t allow for large transfer investments. They are working on projects to address this. Nevertheless, for both Osimhen and Kenan Yıldız, the current budget needs to be exceeded. The financial situation must be taken into account. Nevertheless, Barcelona is always paying attention to developments in the Turkish League and the players involved.”
Another Turkish football transfer expert, Ekrem Konur, confirmed this development, emphasizing that Lewandowski’s future remains uncertain and that the club is seeking a top-tier striker. “No talks have occurred yet. Financial constraints limit significant moves, however, PSG is also monitoring Osimhen closely.”
