The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the release of the Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Sama’ila Bagudo, from the den of bandits.
The lawmaker was kidnapped from his hometown by bandits in October after he completed his prayers in a mosque. While confirming his release, Kebbi State Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, said the victim has been reunited with his family after medical treatment.

According to him, “On November 8, 2025, Sama’ila Bagudo, who was kidnapped in October 2025, regained his freedom and has been reunited with his family after receiving treatment at a medical facility.
“The Kebbi State Police Command is using this medium to commend the courage, resilience and bravery of the combined team of security personnel deployed for search-and-rescue operations during the unfortunate incident, as well as appreciate the good people of Kebbi State , who provided the command with vital and accurate information, which has been utilized to ensuring the safe return of the House member.
“Consequently, the state command reiterated its sustained onslaught against banditry, kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state, urging residents of the state to remain calm, vigilant and report any suspicious movement to the nearest police station or other security agencies for prompt response.”
