Africa’s aviation fueling future will increasingly be shaped by technology, transparency, sustainability and strategic global partnerships, Chief Executive Officer of Asharami Synergy, a Sahara Group downstream company, Nomnso Dike, has said.
He stated this at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Aviation Energy Forum in Paris, recently.
Dike noted that the next phase of aviation fuelling on the continent would depend heavily on digital innovation, operational agility and environmentally sustainable practices.
He stressed that the continent’s aviation sector is entering a new phase driven by the need for operational efficiency, infrastructure resilience and smarter fuel management systems as passenger traffic and airline operations continue to expand across Africa.
“The future of aviation fuelling will be defined by technology, transparency, operational agility and sustainability. We are building capabilities that not only meet today’s operational demands but also help define the next phase of aviation fuelling across Africa,” he said.
To position itself at the centre of this transition, Asharami Synergy said it is investing in infrastructure modernisation, digital visibility systems and precision fuelling technologies aimed at improving safety, efficiency and accountability across aviation fuel supply operations.
The company, which currently boasts the largest aviation fuel supply footprint in Nigeria and is expanding across Africa, said its operations are supported by over 20 aviation bowsers and globally aligned maintenance systems designed to enhance reliability and operational safety.
Part of the company’s recent investments includes the deployment of Automated Tank Gauging (ATG) systems for real-time inventory monitoring and improved fuelling precision.
It also introduced digital fuelling solutions to strengthen transparency, invoicing efficiency and operational accountability.
Asharami Synergy also used the IATA forum to deepen engagements with global aviation technology and infrastructure firms, including i6 Group, as part of efforts to advance fuelling automation, improve operational visibility and align with evolving international standards.
Chief Operating Officer of the company, Adekanmi Adesola, said reliability and innovation would remain critical to supporting Africa’s growing aviation ecosystem.
“Reliability is central to aviation operations. Through disciplined planning, strong partnerships and sustained investment, we continue to deliver seamless, safe and innovative aviation fuel supply across our markets, with the utmost regard for environmental sustainability,” he said.
The company noted that its participation at the IATA Aviation Energy Forum reinforces its commitment to supporting Africa’s aviation growth through safer, smarter and more efficient fuelling operations.
