Right activists and other advocates have called on women to reciprocate Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s kind gesture by re-electing him for the second term.
Speaking on behalf of others at a press conference organised to commemorate 2023 International Women’s Day (IWD), a women advocate, Oluyemisi Adesina, said Governor Sanwo-Olu had done a lot to deserve re-election as his laudable achievements were geared towards future development that would make Lagos State to be more solid and economically buoyant.
Adesina commended Sanwo-Olu for giving special recognition to women because of the importance he attached to their issues in the state.
She called on Lagos residents, especially the women to support Governor Sanwo-Olu and re-elect him on Saturday, March 18, 2023, because of his remarkable achievements in the state during his first term tenure.
“I decided to address this press conference today being International Women’s Day, which is usually celebrated on March 8 of every year, because of the importance Governor Sanwo-Olu attaches to women’s issues in Lagos State. He is one of the governors in the history of Nigeria that has given special recognition to women.
“Today, many of his cabinet members are women. It is also of note that many of the heads of MDAs in Lagos State are women. In Lagos State, many of the judges are also women.
“Therefore, I want to use this medium to call on all Lagos residents, especially the women folk to come out in large numbers on Saturday, March 18, 2023, to re-elect Governor Sanwo-Olu because of his remarkable achievements in Lagos State during his first term in office,” she said.
Adeshina called on all All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders in the state to be united ahead of Saturday’s election saying the state had given everyone an enabling environment that they can always be proud of.
