Nigeria’s table tennis superstar, Aruna Quadri reclaimed his ITTF Africa Cup after defeating Egypt’s Mohamed EL Beiali 4-0 in the 2024 edition at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda yesterday evening.
After three consecutive losses at the finals, the Nigerian got the crown back for the first time since 2017.
Recall Aruna made it into the ITTF Africa Cup final for the 5th time following an immaculate 4-1 (11-6, 14-12, 11-7, 5-11- 11-9) win over another Egyptian Abdel-Aziz Youseff.
An elated Aruna Quadri said, “I never gave up on my dream, it doesn’t matter where you come from. I came from a small place in Oyo state in Nigeria, and it was really difficult growing up.
“I just want to tell them that something great is very possible to happen in every individual”
