Arsenal surrendered a two-goal advantage in dramatic fashion as relegation-threatened Wolverhampton Wanderers battled back to earn a stunning 2-2 draw at Molineux, dealing a blow to the Gunners’ Premier League title ambitions.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring early, ending a 15-game goal drought with a composed finish that settled the visitors. Defender Piero Hincapié doubled Arsenal’s lead before half-time, putting Mikel Arteta’s side firmly in control.

But Wolves, who began the night bottom of the table, refused to capitulate. Hugo Bueno ignited the comeback with a superb long-range strike, shifting the momentum and energising the home crowd.

The pressure eventually told late on when a defensive mix-up in the Arsenal backline resulted in an unfortunate own goal, levelling the score and completing a remarkable turnaround.

The dropped points could prove costly in the title race, potentially handing rivals an opportunity to close the gap at the summit. Arsenal’s concerns were compounded by Saka’s second-half substitution due to a hip problem, raising fresh injury worries at a crucial stage of the campaign.

For Wolves, however, the draw felt like a statement. It marked the first time in Premier League history that a team starting the day bottom avoided defeat against the side starting top despite trailing by two or more goals a result that may yet spark belief in their survival fight.
