…Genk wants more cash for him than Onuachu

Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare is coming off a career-best campaign with Genk, and he made quite a mark, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Amiens man contributed 23 goals and seven assists in 45 appearances across all competitions. Arokodare’s brilliance won him the Ebony Shoe Award and a place in the Super Eagles squad.

Now, according to Data MB, a platform that analyzes players’ performances, Arokodare ranks first among all Under-24 players in Europe for expected non-penalty goals and assists.

No player in the world had more non-penalty xG than Tolu Arokodare (24.46) this season.

The Super Eagles star is ranked higher than some of the world’s most talented attackers. Eintracht Frankfurt star, Hugo Ekitike is ranked second, while Spezia’s Salvatore Esposito third and Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal are joint-third. Then, Borja Sainz is fifth.

Premier League stars, Cole Palmer and Erling Haaland are seventh and eighth respectively. Bayer Munich star, Michael Olise is joint 14th with Nikola Stulic and Jack Rudoni.

Also, there have been speculations around his future, with clubs Stuttgart, Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Besiktas all reportedly monitoring him.

Arokodare will likely leave Genk if he and the club receive a solid offer this summer. With his talent and his size, he could do big things in Europe in the coming years.

Meanwhile, Genk hopes to make more money from the transfer of Arokodare than he did for his fellow Nigerian striker, Paul Onuachu.

Genk sold Onuachu to Southampton three years ago for €18 million.

The club now hopes Arokodare will bring in more cash to them when he eventually tranfsers.

Genk Chairman Peter Croonen hinted this a few weeks ago that they believe Arokodare will fetch them more money.

It is understood that the Jupiler Pro League Goal King could now go for at least €20 million.
