Army, navy laud PINL’s synergy on pipeline surveillance

The Nigerian Army and Navy have expressed delight with the cooperation between them and Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) in securing critical national assets in the Niger Delta Region.

They expressed this during the donation of foodstuffs and other items to their formations in Port Harcourt and Yenagoa, Rivers and Bayelsa states respectively, by officials of PINL and MaCaw Energy Services Limited.

Speaking on behalf of officers and men of the 29 Battalion, Bori Camp, Port Harcourt, the Administrative Officer, Captain K. Lawal, expressed the appreciation of personnel of the Battalion to PINL, for the support shown to the troops deployed to various pipeline infrastructure locations in the region.

Captain Lawal stated: “This shows that the cordial relationship that exists between the soldiers deployed in various locations of PINL and management of PINL is very cordial.

“So, we extend our appreciation to the management for providing this support as a sign of appreciation for providing security and ensuring that pipeline vandalism has stopped in Niger Delta.”

He assured PINL that the troops deployed in their various locations will continue to give the companies maximum cooperation and also provide security to their personnel, facilities and infrastructure to ensure zero incidents of pipeline vandalism and oil bunkering.” Also, the Commander, NNS Soroh, Bayelsa State, A.O Akinbanmi, thanked MaCaw Energy Resources Limited and PINL for the gesture.

Earlier, the Project Manager, MaCaw Energy Services Limited, Udoka Anyabolu, who coordinated the delivery of the items, said the donations symbolised appreciation and partnership.

He said it was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach and continuous stakeholders’ engagement in the region.

He said the focus of the initiative was on enhancing engagement with security agencies and community partners, who contribute to the safety and stability of Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
