Army, community clash: Abia ADC candidate sues for peace

I’ll change Edo narratives if elected –Oboh, ADC candidate

From Tony John, Port Harcourt

The governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abia State, Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, has called on the 14 Brigade Nigeria Army Ohafia, and their host community to embrace peace.

Speaking at a press conference in Umuahia, he noted that peace is paramount in resolving the brewing crisis between the army and the community.

He called on the Abia State government, authorities of the Nigerian Army and community leaders to constitute a committee to look into the crisis to prevent a reoccurrence, and also proffer ways to manage the relationship between the Brigade Army base and the community.

He condemned the idea of people taking laws into their hands and advised all parties to abide by the recommendations of leaders of the community who have stepped in to quell the unfortunate incident and ensure lasting peace.
