A Northern group, Arewa Think Tank (ATTK) has condoled with the former Senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki over the death of his mother.
In a statement of condolence on Saturday by the Chief Convener of Arewa Think Tank, Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu expressed sympathy to the former senate president and the people of Kwara State, and prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed mother.
The group encouraged Senator Saraki to take solace in the fact that his mother was a humble woman who led an exemplary life.
“We are saddened by the news of the passing on of your dear mother, which sad event happened on Tuesday June 18, 2024.
“Although death is inevitable, the exit of a mother and a parent is always a painful experience. Even at a ripe old age, the death of one’s parent elicits a sad moment of feeling of loss that leaves grief in the heart of the loved ones.
“We believed that Mama led a life worthy of emulation, and contributed her best to the growth of our society. Her legacies and memory will not be forgotten having nurtured her children, including Bukola Saraki, to become accomplished and reputable citizens of our dear country.
“Judging from the growth of her children, Mama was a dedicated, kind, humble, committed, generous and resourceful woman who brought her children up in the fear of God, love, hard work and enterprise.
“We note in particular that she bequeathed these great qualities on her children. His Excellency, Bukola Saraki is an epitome of progressive leadership, who has demonstrated the rare qualities impacted on him by his late mother.
“He has brought these qualities to bear in the governance of Kwara State and Nigeria in general at such a short time.
“Arewa Think Tank commiserates with the government and people of Kwara State, and the entire family of Saraki as we mourn the loss of such a close and dear mother”.
“We are more pained that the woman died at this time that the Kwara State and indeed the country at large need her prayers and wise counsel the most. We pray that Allah grants her eternal rest.
