A group, Concerned Citizens of Nigeria (CCN), has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider appointing former Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), North Central, Mrs Lami Oyani Ahmed into his cabinet.
The group said the call has become imperative, considering the role Mrs Ahmed played for the progress of the company while in office before her tenure was cut short.
The group noted that she is a competent hand that the nation cannot afford to miss in government, especially at this critical time that Mr. President’s quest is to put the country’s economy on the right footing.
While addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Sunday, the leader of the group, Sani Yero explained that the group found it expedient to bring Mrs Ahmed to the fore in view of her antecedent in the oil and gas sector.
” It is no longer news that one of the factors that attracted both the youth and the old to the candidature of Tinubu/Shettima was the fact that they emphasised on the inclusiveness of competence and corrupt free persons to be part of their government, and on this note, we are calling on the President and his Vice to consider the qualities in Lami Oyani Ahmed.
” Record has it that amongst other Directors who served under the immediate past administration of Buhari, Mrs Ahmed was the best, following her commitment and show of patrotism towards the nation building and reviving the sector.
” While in office, she had equally used her position to stabilised youth activities, promoting peace and social justice, not only in the North, but in all the geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
” Mrs Ahmed is a woman of impeccable credentials and who enjoys a lot of goodwill from across the divides. She has over 30 years of working experience covering the entire value chain of the oil & gas industry.”
“President Tinubu is a result-oriented leader whose quest is to ensure that the nation’s economy is stabilised; hence the need to work with competent hand like Mrs. Lami Ahmed whose record of competence and diligence cannot be over emphasised”. The group said.
