The National Coordinator, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, Evangelist Chinedu Obigwe, has commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for intervening in the traditional rulership tussle in Awka, noting that it saved the capital city from untold crisis.

Obigwe stated this while reacting to a press release entitled “Awka Council of Kingmakers Rejects Panel of Inquiry Report on Awka Traditional Kingship (Eze Uzu)”, which claimed that Austin Ndigwe remains the monarch of Awka as against Obi Gibson Nwosu.

The national coordinator, who stated that the report “emanated from the camp of cowards supporting the desecration of Awka traditional stool,” wondered why they issued the press release as “an amorphous group because, as cowards, they are afraid of the unknown.”

He added that “Governor Soludo did marvelously well by taking the bull by the horn to put a stop to the shameful desecration of Awka traditional stool. Anambra is in safe hands and the people of the state will continue giving Governor Soludo the needed support to continue his administration’s good work in our state.

“In all, every proactive demonstration of competence by an authority or administration, which did not allow matters to be blown out of proportion, requires commendation and not condemnation.”

Obigwe further faulted the statement, adding that “where one has subscribed to arbitration, he cannot legally be found to be complaining about the report of the panel which he considered as unfavorable to him, when he never resiled from participation and deliberations of the arbitration.”

He said: “Governor Soludo is a serious minded fellow, and when it comes to the issue of maintenance  of rule of law, you can only joke with him on that at your own peril. He has a duty to maintain law and order in Anambra State, and he is ready to go to any length to actualise that for Anambra people.”
