A third-term member of the House of Representatives (Surulere /Ogo-Oluwa Federal Constituency), Hon. Segun Odebunmi has stressed that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will decide who will occupy the position of Speaker of the green chamber in the 9th National Assembly.
Odebunmi , who is a leading contender for the plum job maintained that he has the capacity to lead the House of Representatives owing his experience in the private and public sectors.
The federal legislator, who is also the Okanlomo of Ogbomoso, urged the top echelon of the party to zone the position of Speaker of the green chamber to Oyo state, adding that Oyo state is the headquarters of the South West.
Addressing his supporters and party stakeholders in Oko, Ogbomoso on Friday, the grassroots politician commended the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu for his fatherly role in building the party.
His words, “ the leadership of the party will decide on the zone to produce the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“No doubt, I am qualified by virtue of my legislative experience and political dexterity to lead the green chamber.
“ I am one of the leading contenders for the seat and I am confident that my colleagues will vote for me at the appropriate time”.
While promising to build a harmonious relationship with the executive and judiciary arms of government, Odebunmi lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for building a prosperous Nigeria, adding that the future of Nigeria is bright under the current administration.
