The United Kingdom chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC UK) has described the appointment of its chairman, Tunde Doherty, as Deputy Director 1 on Diaspora Mobilisation in the party’s Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) as well deserved.
Doherty also chairs the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen.
The chapter, in a congratulatory message signed by its Publicity Secretary, Tunde Ajisola, pledged to do everything possible to ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
According to Ajisola, Doherty’s appointment was a testament to his dedication, trust and loyalty to the party. He said APC UK had already begun mobilising to ensure victory for the President and other candidates of the party.
“We congratulate our amiable and indefatigable chairman, Tunde Doherty, on his new appointment as the Deputy Director 1 on Diaspora Mobilisation. It is a well-deserved appointment and we are ready to support him and ensure victory for President Bola Tinubu and all our candidates in the 2027 elections.
“I want to assure Mr. President and the APC leadership that APC UK will steer the ship of the party’s diaspora mobilisation to victory,” he said.
Doherty, who has been leading the APC UK chapter and coordinating the Committee of Diaspora Chairmen, is expected to bring his experience in diaspora organisation and mobilisation to bear on the new role.
The party said his appointment would further strengthen the APC’s engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora and enhance its mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
It reiterated its commitment to work with Doherty to galvanise support for the party across the United Kingdom and other diaspora communities.
Ajisola also expressed confidence that, with Doherty’s leadership, the diaspora mobilisation directorate would deliver victory for the APC.
He maintained that APC UK would continue to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and ensure that Nigerians in the diaspora were fully integrated into the party’s campaign structure.
The chapter called on members in the UK to rally behind Doherty and the PCC leadership to ensure success in the forthcoming elections.
