APC trains agents to drive e-membership programme

Edo State

The All Progressives Congress (APC ), yesterday, launched the training of agents and coordinators to drive the party’s e-membership registration in the state.

Alhaji Yusuf Idris, publicity secretary of APC and coordinator of the  exercise, said the one-day training remained critical to the growth, credibility and future planning of the party.

Idris emphasised the importance  of the exercise to party members and urged them to fully appreciate its challenges and significance.

He said the e-registration initiative aligned with the long-standing vision of President Bola Tinubu, adding that what the president had always preached was now being implemented.

According to him, the exercise was not only important to APC, but also to the president, who is the leader of the party.

“This is to tell you how important this exercise is. It is very, very important for our party, not just our party, but the leader of our party, the president.

“APC in Zamfara has launched a one-day capacity-building training for supervisors and agents on the party’s newly introduced electronic registration (e-registration) portal, aimed at strengthening its membership database across the state.”

Idris said 294 agents had been engaged to work directly with party members at the grassroots, while 14 local government supervisors would oversee and ensure the smooth conduct of the exercise in their respective LGAs.

Idris said the structure included three senatorial administrators to coordinate the activities as well as a state coordinating, administrative officer to supervise the entire process.

He said the exercise was designed to produce a credible and accurate database of party members.

He emphasised that the initiative was in line with the APC’s commitment to digital innovation and internal democracy.

“This exercise is very important, considering the strategic digital innovations being adopted to ensure the success of the party’s renewed agenda as envisioned by the president.

“The e-registration will provide equal opportunities for members to participate fully in party activities, including contesting for elective positions or aspiring to leadership roles at the ward, local government, state or national levels.

“Without e-registration or e-membership, no individual will be able to participate in party processes.

“That is why we are appealing to our members to enlighten their supporters and encourage them to come out en masse to register,” Idris said.

He also said the exercise would promote unity within the party and contribute to the successful conduct of future APC congresses at both state and national levels.

He lauded party leaders in the state for their support, especially the Minister of State for Defence, Dr Bello Matawalle, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West) and Alh Tukur Danfulani, the state chairman.

He acknowledged other executive members of the  party in the state and tasked them to ensure the success of the training.

“Together, we will build a stronger, more united, and successful APC in Zamfara,” he said.

The launch in Zamfara Central will be followed by Zamfara West on Wednesday and concluded in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara North.
