Amid protests over biting hardship in the country, the All Progressive Congress (APC) senatorial leaders have passed a vote of no confidence in the party national youth leader, Mr Dayo Israel.
They have therefore demanded for his resignation for causing disunity among the youth and neglecting the teeming youth supporters in the party.
A statement signed by APC Delta North Senatorial Youth Leader, High Chief Chukwutem Nwogor (Nzu 1 of Amai Kingdom) and APC Bayelsa East Senatorial Youth Leader, Hon Eriaye Gift Jasper, expressed disappointment that Israel does not understand his duties as a national youth leader and lacks grassroots touch to galvanise support for the party.
According to them, Mr Israel has failed to design programs and good policies that will empower APC youths and alleviate the sufferings of the youths of the nation at the grassroots level.
They pointed out that the situation has deteriorated and Mr Israel is not ready to pay attention to the conditions inflicting pains on the citizens and making the party lose its vibrant youth membership.
The aggrieved APC leaders noted that Mr Israel is pursuing narrow interest and has made himself inaccessible by sidelining APC youths and personalising the office of the APC National Youth Leader.
They described youths as the foundation of the party and frowned at the situation where the youths are not feeling the impact of the national youth leader.
