The office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Takai Local Government Area of Kano State has been allegedly set ablaze by supporters of two political parties in the state.

A security source told Daily Sun that the office was set ablaze at about 11am following a clash between the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the state.

The source said the police however intervened in the clash even as the fire had been extinguished and normalcy restored to the area.

Spokesperson of the NNPP in the state, Sanusi Bature, however accused the APC of  setting the office ablaze.

While alerting security agencies, the media and security agencies of the incident, he claimed the attack occurred at the time coalition was 85 per cent completed.

Spokesman for Kano State Police Command, Abdullahi  Haruna Kiyawa, did not pick his calls to respond to the case.
