APC crisis: NWC sets up 5-man investigative, reconciliation committee

The All Progressives Congress (APC) National Working Committee (NWC) has  constituted a five-man investigative and reconciliation committee to wade in and unravel the circumstances responsible for the leadership crisis rocking the party.

Part of the crisis has seen North West Zonal Chairman and NWC member, Salihu Moh Lukman, repeatedly accusing the National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu and National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore of running a two-man show and relegating other members of the NWC to inconsequential level.

The party’s chairman and chief scribe are also accused of being too autocratic, retrogressive and failing to render accounts for the billions of Naira the party has racked in since they assumed office in 2022.

Determined not to allow the crisis to deteriorate further, the party’s leadership, yesterday,  constituted a five-man committee to appraise the allegations  against Adamu and Omisore.

Confirming the development, a member of the NWC told Daily Sun that the party’s national leadership could no longer continue to watch the rift degenerate further to worrisome level.

“We have set up a five-man committee to wade into the crisis, look into the allegations raised to essentially see how it can be mitigated. We are aware that allowing it to fester further, boil down to opening flanks at the end of the day, which if not plucked may put the party in jeopardy. That it even degenerated to this extent is a confirmation of leadership failure of our party. No duration limit was given to the committee, but they were charged to thoroughly investigate and find an amiable solution to the crisis. We want to see how it can be resolved in an atmosphere that can give every aggrieved person comfort.”
