APC Professionals Council has said about 37,000 youths will benefit from the seventh edition of its tuition-free scholarship scheme.
The council in a statement issued yesterday in Lagos by its National Director General, Seyi Bamigbade said 1000 youths will benefit from each state of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, the programme tagged, “Renewed Hope Scholarship Scheme” which is in collaboration with National Image Scholarship, a consortium for Educational Support Scheme is aimed at engaging young people interested in advancing their educational pursuits but challenged by finances.
He noted that this is in line with the President Bola Ahmed Tiunbu administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda of providing equal opportunity to all to compete favourably during the campaign.
Bamigbade said education plays a pivotal role in raising the frontiers of national development and keeping the young population engaged not to engage in social vices that will be inimical to their future.
He said, “The All Progressives Congress Professionals Council and National Image Magazine as a Public-Private Partnership (P.P.P.) offers to support less privileged young secondary School leavers with five credits including English and Mathematics, to advance Participants in their University, Polytechnic (OND/HND Degrees) and College of Education Programme with free admission into our designed Public Private Partnership Higher Institutions in Nigeria with Free School Fees scholarship throughout their careers. We are looking at 1,000 youths from each state of the federation, including the FCT.
“There is no limit to what our youths can accomplish as more opportunities will be presented to them in pursuing their respective professional careers. It is therefore a novel approach to create an Educational Scholarship that supports and enhances productivity by ways of empowerment through the acquisition of quick skill sets entrepreneurship for immediate employment opportunities, thereafter introducing participants to relevant professional firms for Industrial Attachment.
“The targeted participants are young people within the age bracket of 17 – 30 who have their five credits including Mathematics and English in WAEC, NECO, (Awaiting Result), Undergraduate, HND Conversion Academic and Bachelor Degree Programme”.
