The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has commended the acting Director General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Chris Najomo for his performance and urged President Bola Tinubu to confirm him as the substantive head of the agency.

AON’s Vice President, Allen Onyema and spokesman Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, praised Najomo’s leadership and commitment to aviation safety and highlighted the improvements in the regulatory environment, streamlined processes, and enhanced international reputation of the NCAA under his tenure.

Onyema said Najomo’s experience as a pilot and airline manager, has enabled him to understand the challenges faced by operators. Both men said Najomo’s tenure has elevated the NCAA to international standards, ensuring aircraft safety and passenger rights while addressing critical concerns of airlines and airport workers. They also acknowledged President Tinubu’s decision in appointing Najomo and Festus Keyamo as Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, whose efforts, they say, have garnered global respect for Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Okonkwo echoed Onyema’s sentiments, highlighting Najomo’s dedication to safety, efficiency, and problem-solving. He cited specific instances where Najomo’s quick actions and decisive leadership have facilitated timely approvals and streamlined processes for airline operators. Both leaders expressed confidence in Najomo’s ability to continue driving positive change in the aviation sector and urged the government to recognize his contributions by confirming his appointment as the substantive DG of the NCAA.
