A 19-year-old woman, Fatimo Agboke, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her neighbour’s son, Farouk Azeez to death, during quarrels in the Ijegun area of Lagos.
The incident occurred last Monday at about 9:20 p.m, causing serious panic in the place.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, told Daily Sun that the suspect reportedly got into a fight with the 20-year-old victim, during which she allegedly grabbed a broken bottle and stabbed him in the neck, resulting in his death.
Hundeyin said attempts to revive the victim was futile as he died on the way to the hospital for medical attention.
He said: “On September 9, 2024, complaint was received from the Ijegun area of the state that a lady stabbed a boy to death. It was reported at Isheri-Oshun Division by a man that a neighbour had an argument with his son. The victim was stabbed with a broken bottle in his neck by Agboke, which caused him grievous bodily harm. He gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital for medical attention.
“The division raced to the scene where the lifeless body of the deceased was seen on the ground, facing up in the pool of his own blood with a deep cut on his neck. The corpse has been removed and deposited at Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for autopsy.”
Hundeyin stated that the suspect had been arrested and detained, adding that investigation was underway to uncover the circumstances surrounding the killing.
