Another dangerous export from the United States

Thursday

The times now call for active vigilance against a new ‘virus’ that has been developed in the United States of America (USA) and is being aggressively marketed around the world as the new reality in human development. I am referring to the developing view that children should no longer be identified as boys or girls until they reach a certain age of reason when they can freely decide which sex/gender they want to be identified as. This is something new.

The Joe Biden administration in the US supports it and has even gone ahead to make pronouncements that forbid teachers from identifying schoolchildren as boy or girl. Part of the new deal is to make children argue that they are trapped in the wrong body and as such demand sex change, which their teachers are obliged to permit even without the consent of parents. They also coined the word, transgender, which enables advocates to argue that there is a world of difference between sex, as in male and female, and gender.

I watched a Dr. Phil programme, on Fox, which was edited for social media propagation In the video, a male primary school teacher, sat in the midst of transgender activists to disagree that there is a difference between sex and gender. The teacher made an effort to lecture the activists that male and female, are defined by the xx and xy chromosomes. He was branded a hater – that he hates people who have exercised their freedom and have freely chosen which gender they want to identify with. The transgender activists came up with a very nauseating position that “transgender males do menstruate”.

According to her, “menstruation is not exclusive to women”. The transgender activist insists also that “sex and gender identity are two different things”. For them, “sex is what you are born with, the sexual reproductive organs that you have while gender is what you identify with”. The male teacher refused to accept this differentiation and went on to lecture the activists. He said: “I don’t agree with your conclusions. You are just making it up. People hate the truth because they see the truth as painful. You can identify with anything you want to but that does not mean that the rest of us have to accept that illusion.”

Like many Americans, Donald Trump is livid with this growing trend. In fact, he has made a campaign promise that he will get Congress to promulgate a law abolishing it and also criminalise the propagation of the thought in primary schools. He said, “On my first day in office, it will become a crime for any teacher to tell children that they are neither boys or girls or that they are trapped in the wrong body and may get a sex change if they want”. Trump’s reason is that sex/gender is naturally assigned and, therefore, cannot be an issue for children to decide. Trump backed his position with emphasis on scriptural pronouncements in Genesis and the Gospel according to Mark.

The Holy Scripture, which is also used in historical references, records at Genesis 1:27 that “God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Further reference is made to this fact at Mark 10:6 wherein it is noted that “but from the beginning of creation, God made them male and female.” In spite of the fact that the US and most of Europe are conservative Christians, these scriptural provisions are sadly jettisoned in the expression of liberalism, self-expression, and freedom.

This may seem like something that is exclusive to transgender activists in the US and some parts of Europe. But, the reality is that like the LGBT idiocy, transgender stupidity may be spreading fast in Africa. It is becoming a fad among the GenZ public that easily assimilates every fantastical nonsense which Europe and America develop and dump on them through social media irrespective of how illusory they are.

These emerging tendencies, as nonsensical as they are, challenge traditional African values. This is done with the argument for liberalism and individualism where young people are made to argue that they can live free of traditional African family values.

In traditional African societies, every child is born male or female. He or she is raised in very conservative family environments that are strict on values that are etched either in the Christian religion or the traditional religion. These values are developed and transmitted to children as boys or girls –no gender between. These are also the values that bring that young boy and young girl to the understanding of progeny and continuation of the family tree. It is this understanding that makes it possible for young people, who are properly schooled in values, to accept the institution of marriage as a union between an Adam and an Eve; not between Adam and Steve and certainly not between trans-Adam and a trans-Eve.

Therefore, it is my feeling that this developing tendency is a direct attack on the institution of marriage whose aim can only be destructive. It is also not impossible that the transgender thing is aimed at directly attacking the population of places called third world, especially, Africa. This may also be a deliberate effort at population control.

The fact is that two men cannot procreate. Two women cannot procreate either. Procreation is divine. It is ordained for the survival of the human race. Any ideology or activism that works against this, becomes manipulative and negatively interferes, and also alters, the divine mandate “be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth” (Genesis 1.28).

Perhaps, this is the time to beam the searchlight on schools in Nigeria that boast of American and British curricula. We are not likely to know the details of what knowledge they impart to Nigeria’s children admitted to get an education there. But a thorough review may tell us something because America and Europe, especially Britain, are forcefully exporting this destructive thinking using whatever channel they believe are easily attracted to the younger generation who are very vulnerable to this devilish ideology. Parents also need to stand their guard and make their children appreciate that the gender, or sex, of a child, is assigned naturally and is not one that a child can grow up to seek a review of through a medical process, just because some Americans and Europeans think it is an expression of freedom and liberty.
