Anambra State executive members of the Coalition for Good Governance (CGG) have called on political officeholders to pay more attention to the people’s needs, hopes and aspirations.

Director-General of the Coalition, Sam Eke, said that objective of the group was to monitor public officeholders to ensure they deliver good and accountable services to the people. He said that the leadership of the organisation was not happy with bad governance in the country, revealing that the group had resolved to step up the fight against the trend in Nigeria.

While cautioning the new leadership of the group in the state, he told anyone not sure of performing or working with dedication to opt out, as the work would be demanding.

Chairman of the group in the state, Joseph Obidigwe, speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated state Exco and LG coordinators, assured national and zonal leadership of CGG of the members’ readiness to live up to expectations.

He made it clear that the group would interrogate governance in the state without fear or favour, and therefore urged his fellow members to brace up for the serious work ahead.
