There is low turnout so far in Onitsha, Anambra state as many voters shun polling units.

In some of the polling units visited, the electoral officers were waiting for voters to come but only few turned out to vote.

Also, the early arrival of the officials and materials showed that INEC was prepared for the election.

Some of the electoral officers who spoke with The Sun in ward 14, polling units 001, 004, 008, 12 said that the BVAS were working perfectly well and doesn’t take time to accredit voters.

They said they have attended to all who came out to vote this morning waiting for others who are still at home, saying that despite the low turnout they will stay till 2.30pm before they start sorting and counting the votes.

However, there is skeletal operation of tricycle (Keke) operators in the city, while some boys are playing football on the roads.
