Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, on Saturday, voted at his polling unit in Epe in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections, urging all and sundry to embrace the culture of one man one vote. Governor Ambode, who got to his polling unit at ward A5, unit 033, Ogunmodede College, Ajaganabe Area, Papa Epe, with his wife around 9:55 am, voted at exactly 10:11am.

Speaking to journalists after casting his ballot, the Governor specifically renewed the call for the turnout of eligible voters, saying it is by so doing that their well-being could be enhanced in the state.

His words: “Voting has been peaceful thus far; the security agencies are actually at work and we are encouraging every Lagosian to come out and perform their civic obligations without threat or fear.

He further called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to address delays in arrival of election materials and staff in some centres in the State.

“We implore INEC to ensure that the voting materials and all the electoral staff actually come out quickly so that everybody can have the opportunity to perform their civic obligations,” he said.
