During a valedictory session held in the university’s Senate Chamber, Professor Aluyor received praise and accolades from the institution’s management for his leadership.

Professor Dawood Egbefo, the newly appointed Acting Vice Chancellor, commended Professor Aluyor’s tenure, describing him as a distinguished Nigerian who oversaw significant growth and development at the university.

“I am honoured to stand before you today as the newly appointed Acting Vice-Chancellor. I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me, and I am committed to leading our institution with dedication, integrity, and a collaborative spirit during this transitional period,” Professor Egbefo stated.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki for entrusting him with the responsibility and thanked Professor Aluyor for his leadership. Professor Egbefo acknowledged the challenges and opportunities ahead, pledging to work diligently alongside the university community.

Recognising the university’s reputation for academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement under Professor Aluyor, the Acting VC pledged to uphold these values. He emphasised the importance of collaboration, resilience, and vision in guiding the institution forward.

“Collaboration, Resilience, and Vision” will be the guiding principles, Professor Egbefo declared, calling for open communication, adaptability, and a shared vision for the future.

He addressed the Senate, acknowledging their vital role in shaping the university’s direction and pledging to value their insights and support their efforts.

“As your Acting Vice-Chancellor, I look forward to our collaborative efforts and the many accomplishments we will achieve together,” he concluded.

In his remarks, Professor Aluyor expressed gratitude for the support he received during his tenure and urged the university community to extend the same cooperation to the new Acting VC.

“I want to appeal to you to cooperate and offer even greater support to the new VC so that the university can grow higher and higher,” Professor Aluyor urged.
