Alleged genocide: Trump won’t sanction Nigeria – Bwala

Daniel Bwala

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has stated that the United States President, Donald Trump, will not sanction Nigeria following his recent threat.

Bwala, who spoke in an interview on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’, stated that the masses will bear the brunt if Trump places sanctions on Nigeria.

Trump had issued a threat over the alleged killing of Christians in Nigeria, revealing possible military intervention if the federal government fails to stop the reported genocide.

The US president also designated Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC).

Speaking on the issue, Bwala said, “If sanctions are imposed on Nigerians, it is the people who will bear the brunt. Trump doesn’t hold grudges; he says what he wants to say, and afterwards, things return to normal.

“The Nigerian government has clearly understood Trump’s message and is addressing it. We will begin to see results soon.”
