From Noah Ebije, Kaduna

A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and National Coordinator of Disciples of Jagaban (DOJ), a 2023 supporters group of Tinubu for Presidency, Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje has said that the reaction of Nasir El-rufai over alleged attack of the president of National  Association of Nigeria Students (NANS), Atiku Isah by Seyi Tinubu was too sentimental and personal, capable of causing national chaos.

El-rufai who is the immediate past governor of Kaduna State had swiftly called for probe into the allegation of maltreatment of NANS leader by President Tinubu’s son.

There are trending photos on social media of the bruised body of the NANS President allegedly inflicted on him by security operatives on the order of Seyi.

However, Seyi had since denied the allegation, saying he knew nothing about the whole incident.

But the APC chieftain in a statement insisted that Seyi should, “use whatever resources he has  to drag this NANS boy, and sue him  even to the  world court to prove all his allegations against us, because any allegation against Seyi Tinubu now is an allegation to the entire Tinubu political family. So that next time, the NANS leader won’t get himself involved in a bad political contract”.

“As an advocate for national unity and responsible governance, I want to point out to El-rufai that his message is capable of dividing the North and South. Unity and national progress must remain our collective priority.

“The controversy surrounding a claim by the NANS President—denied outright by Seyi Tinubu—and the swift reaction from former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, highlights how easily politics can descend into chaos.

“El-Rufai’s condemnation of the alleged attack on the NANS President appeared less about principle and more about political manoeuvring, leaving many observers questioning the sincerity behind such interventions and reaction.

“I want to  condemn these developments because El-Rufai is attempting to destabilize the country over personal and political disappointment. Politics is not inherently dirty, but those who play it for personal gain corrupt it. Let’s always separate personal ambition from national interest.

“I don’t think Seyi Tinubu would be stupid  to directly involve himself in a kind of attack that will be tagging on him. This is unthinkable of a man of that intellectual capacity.

“Nigerians  should not allow themselves to be lured into divisive movements orchestrated by political actors nursing bruised egos. Cutting off the head cannot be a solution to a headache. There should be calm and reason in the face of provocation.

“I am surprised at how quickly some individuals have aligned with regional power brokers, who in the past showed no genuine concern for the people’s welfare. These are the same individuals now claiming to fight for justice, not because of national interest, but to reclaim lost political privileges. Nigerians should not allow tribal and religious sentiments to cloud their judgment.

“The future of Nigeria depends on the collective will of its citizens to maintain peace and unity. No individual, no matter how politically powerful, is greater than the nation. The time to speak truth to power is now, and silence will only embolden those working against the unity of the country.

“The political agitations of a few must not be mistaken as the voice of the people. Our collective focus must remain on unity, development, and the betterment of all Nigerians, regardless of tribe, religion, or region. The unity of Nigeria is not just a slogan—it is a necessity for survival, and it is non-negotiable”. The statement said.
