Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa State has warned traders along the Masaka/Mararaba market to move out of the highway or face law enforcement officers.
The governor’s warning was in other to ease congestion along the area.
Governor Al-makura, who stated this at Karu international market after a meeting with government officials in preparation to the commission of the market next month, explained that traders who display their goods on schedule market days in Masaka will not be allowed.
He explained that the effort is to avoid traffic congestion in that axis and prevent unforeseen accidents.
He said that the informal section of the Karu international market will be commission for activities next month to absorb traders along karu -Masaka axis.
He added that lock-up shops would also be open for business saying that over 70 percent of the shops in the market have been allocated.
Al-makura maintained that the effort was towards sanitising the system and creating enabling environment for business activities.
