Kano State Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori has tasked his officers to stay away from corruption, extortion, abuse of office or any misconduct capable of tarnishing the image of the Force.
The Commissioner objected to these misconducts during a strategic meeting with Area Commanders, Squadron Commanders and Heads of Department of the Command during a meeting held at the Bompai Police Headquarters.
He reiterated that any officer found culpable of any of these crimes would be made to face appropriate disciplinary and legal actions in accordance with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations.
The Commissioner, who received detailed operational briefs from all the formations in the state during the occasion, also directed the Commanders to adopt a proactive approach to policing their formations with a view to preventing criminal elements and preventing the breakdown of law and order.
He also tasked them to ensure round -the clock- visibility patrols, stop -and -search operations as well as to monitor and identify black spots across the state with a view to deter the commission of crimes.
The Commissioner also tasked the officers on intelligence driven operations, urging them to ensure that strengthen intelligence gathering through community policing partnerships. He reassured the residents of Kano State of the resolve of the command to protecting lives and property in the state.
