Akwa Ibom State Governor Pastor Umo Eno has felicitated with the leadership of the State Assembly on their one-year anniversary celebration.

The Akwa Ibom 8th Assembly was inaugurated in June last year.

In a goodwill message signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr Ekerete Udo, Governor Eno celebrated the 8th Assembly for the robust collaboration that has existed between the Executive and Legislative arms of government in the state. The message was addressed to the Speaker of the State Assembly, Hon. Udeme Otong, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.

The statement reads in part:

“In the past year, the House under your leadership has cooperated with us as a reliable partner in our determined efforts to continue to bring development to our state, especially in the rural areas.

“You have worked expeditiously to pass people-centric bills to advance our growth and development in line with our ARISE Agenda which today, have become laws. I want to commend the House too, for passing our 2024 Budget in record time.”

Governor Eno reminded the lawmakers that they were all elected together to serve the people and expand the frontiers of development across the state.

“We came to serve the people of Akwa Ibom State and deepen the narratives of our development.

“As you commence your Second Legislative Year, I know we, in the Executive Arm, can always count on you to continue on this path of robust partnership in the service of our dear State and our people.

“That is what they elected us to do, and together we will continue to Arise and serve them diligently,” he said.
