Akume tasks new FRSC boss to reduce road crashes

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, has instructed the new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, to drastically reduce road crashes.

Akume, who gave the mandate at the decoration ceremony of Mohammed, yesterday in Abuja, emphasized the significance of the Corps Marshal’s position, stressing its crucial role in minimizing road accidents and ensuring safer travels.

He commended the FRSC for its initiatives aimed at reducing road traffic crashes and fatalities, expressing optimism that the new Corps Marshal would build upon these efforts.

The SGF acknowledged the weight of responsibility on the new Corps Marshal’s shoulders, saying, “we wish you the best on this new assignment because the assignment is sensitive and very important.”

He urged the Corps Marshal to leverage on his expertise to make a positive impact, as the FRSC was established to enhance the value of life and ensure safer roads for everyone.
