Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo is set to give the keynote address at the Opening Ceremony of the African Para Games in Accra which has secured its latest sponsorship.
Akufo-Addo has been confirmed to speak at the beginning of the inaugural edition of the Games, scheduled to take place from September 3 to 12.
Accra Sports Stadium is set to stage the Opening Ceremony in Ghana’s capital.
The Games’ Organising Committee has received what is likely to be a welcome sponsorship from Lemon Catering Services. The deal is valued at GH₵100,000 (£6,900/$8,700/€8,000) and is due to see the company supply around 8,000 bottles of its fruit juice products to athletes and officials during the Games.
Team Nigeria is fully prepared to storm the games which will serve as prelude the main All Africa Games scheduled to hold in Ghana next year .
According to the president,Paralympic Committee Nigeria(PCN)Sunday Odebode ,the athletes have been training hard for the Games and they are fully ready for the podium to make the country proud.
Nigeria ,Odebode disclosed will participate in Wheelchair basketbal (Male and Female),Wheelchair tennis(male and female), and Amputee athletics(male and female).
“I can state categorically that the team is fully ready and well prepared for the Games.Though,it is not going to be easy ride but with the level of preparation adequately put in place,our athletes are in fully In top gear, well equiped and prepared for the Games.”,he said
Also speaking ,the PCN Secretary, Isah suleiman,assured that all hands are on deck to ensure a successful outing for the team Nigeria stressing that the athletes are in a good frame of mind to make the country proud.
