Hon. Peter A. Akpanke has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for the Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency in Cross River State after recording a landslide victory across the three local government areas.
Official collation results and documents made available to journalists showed that Akpanke overwhelmingly defeated five other aspirants in the keenly contested primary conducted on May 16, 2026.
According to the results, a total of 18,921 APC members were registered for the exercise across Bekwarra, Obudu and Obanliku Local Government Areas, while 16,564 accredited delegates and party members participated in the election as valid votes cast. No void vote was recorded during the exercise.
The final breakdown of votes scored by the aspirants showed:
Hon. Peter A. Akpanke — 14,252 votes
Hon. Martin Orim — 1,572 votes

Dr. Vincent A. Ushie — 270 votes
Dr. Godwin A. Agbor — 265 votes
Anthonia A. Ally — 104 votes
Hon. Theresa Akwaji Ushie — 101 votes
Akpanke dominated the poll in all three local government areas, securing 4,749 votes in Obanliku, 4,886 votes in Obudu, and 4,617 votes in Bekwarra, further cementing his commanding lead in the contest.
Following the collation of results, APC electoral officials officially declared Hon. Peter A. Akpanke winner of the party’s House of Representatives primary election for the Bekwarra/Obudu/Obanliku Federal Constituency.
