A broad coalition of student leaders, activists, and critical stakeholders within the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State axis, converged on Thursday, April 23, at the NLC Secretariat, Abeokuta, to formally endorse the candidature of Comrade Emmanuel Hammed Akinjetan for the position of Chairman, NANS Ogun Joint Campus Committee (JCC).
The well-attended gathering, which drew representation from across institutions in Ogun State, reflects a growing consensus and unified front among student leaders and stakeholders who have expressed strong confidence in Comrade Akinjetan’s leadership capacity, track record, and vision for a more responsive and inclusive student unionism.
Akinjetan, a postgraduate student of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), is no stranger to student leadership.
As a former President of TASUED Students’ Union, he distinguished himself through pragmatic leadership, effective representation, and a student-centered approach that prioritized welfare, academic stability, and institutional engagement.
His tenure is widely regarded as one marked by courage, accountability, and measurable progress.

Speaking at the event, Akinjetan reaffirmed his commitment to purposeful leadership, pledging to serve with diligence, transparency, and an unwavering focus on the collective interests of Ogun State students.
