Nigeria internationals Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi have reported for pre-season training at Premier League club Nottingham Forest.
The Super Eagles stars were among the group that returned to the Nigel Doughty Academy on Monday, July 13, to begin preparations for the upcoming Premier League campaign, Forest’s fifth consecutive season in the top flight.
Aina and Awoniyi took part in Forest’s first training session after not being granted an extended break following their omission from Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Unity Cup, as well as the high-profile friendlies against Poland and Portugal.
Oliver Glasner took charge on Monday after being appointed Nottingham Forest’s new head coach earlier this summer.

Aina and Awoniyi will be hoping to impress the Austrian tactician during pre-season after experiencing contrasting fortunes last term.
While the defender endured an injury-plagued campaign, the striker saw his playing opportunities limited, making just four starts in all competitions.
The highlight of Awoniyi’s season came in Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 win over Chelsea in May when he registered three goal involvements.
As part of their preparations for the new season, the two-time European champions will face Notts County, Blackburn Rovers, Vitória SC, Sporting CP, Bayer Leverkusen and Stade Brestois in a series of pre-season friendlies.
