President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to host young Nigerians in Presidential Villa, Abuja, as part of the activities marking the 2024 Progressive Young Leaders Submit (PYLS) slated for September 3 to 5.
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima and National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, will also be in attendance at the three-day event, where President Tinubu will give a keynote address. This will be followed by ministerial town hall sessions by dynamic young executives.
Speaking ahead of the annual summit themed: “Shaping the future we want: From restiveness to inclusion, action and development”, APC national youth leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, stated that the summit was a crucial step in assigning the right of place to young Nigerians in the nation’s development agenda.
His words: “This year’s Summit is dedicated to channeling the energy and aspirations of young Nigerians towards building a future that embodies their collective dreams. Hosted by ruling party – The All Progressives Congress, the Summit will convene a distinguished gathering of Nigerian public and private sector leaders, government officials, policymakers, and dynamic young executives.
“The event aims to bridge the gap between youth and government, foster intergenerational dialogue, and provide a platform for young Nigerians to actively engage with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu. It will feature a series of ministerial township hall sessions where participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with government leaders on critical issues such as education, technology, economic development, and institutional reforms, with a focus on integrating actionable solutions into the administration’s policy frameworks.”
About 3,000 youths across the nation will be participating in the event to encourage them to take ownership of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and work collectively towards its realization.
“PYLS 2024 promises to be a transformative event where the voices of Nigeria’s youth will resonate strongly. Discussions will cover a broad range of topics, including job creation, youth inclusion, technology, communication, and tackling inequality. This Summit is designed to ensure that young Nigerians are not just observers but active contributors to the formation of a new Nigeria under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“By the end of the Summit, it is expected that young leaders will be empowered to take concrete steps towards realizing the Nigeria of our dreams. We invite all young Nigerians to join us for this historic event,” he stated.
