The upcoming Agbaja Summit 2025, scheduled for November 26th and 27th, promises to build on the successes of the maiden 2022 edition while showcasing the development achievements of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, within Agbaja land and beyond.

Prof. Chike Anibeze, Chairman of the Summit’s Planning Committee, told journalists at a press briefing in Enugu that this year’s gathering will not only honour cultural heritage but also highlight leadership, innovation, and education.

“The 2025 Summit will honour Governor Mbah’s landmark development initiatives, not just in Agbaja land but across the state. Our aim is to celebrate progress while inspiring our people to achieve more,” Prof Anibeze said.

The two-day summit will kick off with a hybrid colloquium focused on education and skill development. Experts will lead workshops and hands-on sessions, alongside the aspiring entrepreneurs workshop and exhibition, which will provide a platform for innovation and capacity building.

Day two will see the International Conference Centre, Enugu, transformed into a Cultural Fiesta. “Masquerades, music, dance, food, and attire will showcase the richness of Agbaja identity,” Prof. Anibeze said, noting that the event will be a vibrant celebration of the people’s heritage.

Reflecting on the journey since the first summit in 2022, Prof. Anibeze emphasised the strides made in education and community development.

He highlighted initiatives like the 2022 Agbaja Declaration, which ensures no child in Agbaja goes to school without basic learning materials, describing it as a “simple but powerful resolution that has restored dignity to our children and given them confidence to pursue their studies.”

He also stressed the importance of practical skills, saying, “Education and skills development are central to Agbaja Summit 2025. We are linking ancestral wisdom with modern training to prepare our people for a competitive future.”

According to Prof. Anibeze, the summit will also feature an awards committee to recognise exemplary leaders past and present, further reinforcing the summit’s role as a platform for honouring leadership and sacrifice within the community.

“Ndi Agbaja, this is 2025 and our Tomorrow Is Here. Together, we will relive our vision of uniting our people in a transformative journey of cultural renaissance and forward-looking leadership,” he said.
