Following the continuous detention of Sheikh Zakzaky, his supporters under the auspices of Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), have disrupted vehicular and business activities as they staged a protest demanding his release.

The group whose members marched from Maitama District down to Wuse and Area 1, insisted that their leader had not done anything to warrant his continuous detention, maintaining that they would not give up.

A distributed press release signed by Abdullahi Muhammad, on behalf of the Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, accused President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Security Adviser (NSA), of trying to kill him.

His words: “It is pertinent to mention that President Buhari and his National Security Adviser (NSA), Mohammed, Babagana Monguno, have plotted to use the cover of the elections to kill Sheikh Zakzaky in the detention facility they are holding him.

“The international community should hold Buhari and the NSA responsible should anything happen to him,” he added.
