Nigeria’s senior women basketball team, D’Tigress coasted to a 84-47points win over their Democratic Republic of Congo opponents in the second group game yesterday at the ongoing Afrobabasket for Women in Bamako, Mali.
The Sam Vincent side opened the first quarter with 23-7points, while the Congolese fought bavk in the second quarter as they attempts to snatch the lead but the Nigerian side were resolute to end the quarter by 18-22 points.
On resumption for the third and final quarters, the D’Tigress retained as they led by 11-8 points and
32-9 points to secure their second victory ofbyhe group.
The Nigerian girls recorded an emphatic 80 points to 69 points win over familiar foes, Mozambique, in their first group game on Friday.
The D’Tigress will square up with north Africa giants, Egypt today.
