AfroBasket 2017: Nigeria opens camp in Lagos

Reigning Africa champions, Nigeria’s D’ Tigers begins preparations for the defence of her title today in Lagos with the opening of its camp ahead of the AfroBasket 2017 championship to be co-hosted by Senegal and Tunisia from September 8-16.

According to a release signed by the Secretary General of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBBF, Chimezie Asiegbu, the camp was made up of 12 players from the domestic Kwese basketball league while the foreign based players will open camp in New York with the team’s head coach, Alex Nwora.

The Lagos camp would be handled by assistant national team coaches; Adewunmi Aderemi and Abdulrahman Mohammed. Players invited include Kano Pillars duo of Abdul Yahaya and Azuoma Dike.

Others are Eli Abraham (Gombe Bulls), Onyeka Okeke, Yakubu Sylvanus, Victor Anthony, Musa Usman, Echoibi Victor, Timothy Mudiaga Igeofe (Hoops & Read Basketball club), Joel Ejigba (Civil Defence)

David Godwin, Oyeleye MojubaOluwa, Daalu Egbejiogwu and Ibrahim Olajuwon
