Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed his determination to maintain his impressive goalscoring form after making Turkish football history with Bursaspor.
The Nigerian striker scored twice and provided an assist as Bursaspor defeated Muğlaspor 3-0 away from home on Thursday, extending his scoring streak to 10 consecutive matches in the Turkish First League.
After a goalless first half, Iheanacho opened the scoring in the 58th minute following an assist from Halil Akbunar.
He doubled Bursaspor’s advantage in the 79th minute before setting up Hüseyin Maldar to complete the victory four minutes later.
Reflecting on the team’s performance, Iheanacho explained that Bursaspor had to work hard before taking control after the interval.
“It was a great performance, especially in the second half. It was difficult in the first half, but we controlled the game very well in the second half and scored the goals.” he told beIN SPORTS.
“We’re happy to win. They are a strong side, and we won away from home today, so we’re really happy.”
The victory strengthened Bursaspor’s position in the league, with the team moving to second place on 22 points.

His 10-match scoring streak also surpassed the previous nine-game runs recorded by Turkish football legends Metin Oktay and Saffet Sancaklı.
