A seven-man inspection team from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has concluded the assessment of facilities proposed by Nigeria to host the Final Phase of the 2025/26 CAF African Schools Football Championship.
The inspection exercise, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, covered key facilities including the Remo Stars Sports Institute, FC Ebedei Stadium, Babcock University Teaching Hospital and the Babcock University Guest House.
The delegation was led by CAF Safeguarding Officer, Omar Amr, alongside officials responsible for competitions, marketing, logistics, safety, accommodation and travel, as well as the Executive Director of WAFU B, Philippe Tchere.
Officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), led by Dr Ademola Olajire and Coach Abdulrafiu Yusuf, accompanied the team during the tour.

Amr disclosed that a total of 24 teams are expected to participate in the Final Phase, making it the largest edition of the competition since its launch in 2022. The lineup will include eight boys’ teams, eight girls’ teams from across Africa, and eight invited teams from another FIFA confederation.
Launched four years ago, the CAF African Schools Football Championship is an annual U15 competition aimed at youth football development and education, supported by a $10 million investment from the Patrice Motsepe Foundation.
At the end of the inspection, CAF officials expressed strong satisfaction with the facilities, with one member describing the Remo Stars Sports Institute as the best football facility he had seen in West Africa.
The Final Phase of the 2025/26 championship is scheduled for April.
