Budding Nollywood thespian, Longe Afekhide Michael aka Afes Mike, has won the Nigerian Humanitarian Merit Award as the fastest rising actor of the year.
Afes Mike’s journey into acting wasn’t as a result of unemployment, but rather a lifelong passion. He began his training at the PEFTI Films Institute in 2009, honing his skills for the breakthrough moment he envisioned.
What sets the Theatre and Performing Arts graduate apart is his ability to take on daring and unusual roles. He believes that every role, no matter how challenging, deserves passion and commitment.
Emphasizing the importance of education for aspiring actors, Afes Mike said it significantly influences both their craft and business acumen. His advice to up and coming actors is for them to be original and unique.
Meanwhile, Afes Mike is set to feature in projects like Deceit, When Love Comes Calling, and Unintentional. He looks forward to working with industry stalwarts like Majid Michel, Mercy Johnson, Ruth Kadiri, and many more.
