Nigeria’s Super Eagles have dismissed reports of internal discord within the team following their emphatic 4–0 victory over Mozambique at the ongoing 35th Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Speculation arose after striker Victor Osimhen was seen gesturing toward teammate Ademola Lookman shortly before a corner kick during Monday night’s match, prompting conjecture across traditional and digital media platforms.
Team Administrator Dayo Enebi Achor refuted the claims on Tuesday evening, insisting there was no crisis in the camp. He explained that any misunderstanding was minor and quickly resolved. “There is no problem whatsoever in our camp. Whatever people saw as a crisis between two brothers was resolved a couple of hours later. All is well, and the team is currently training,” Achor said.
Achor also dismissed reports suggesting that striker Jerome Akor Adams had left the team camp. According to him, Adams briefly left with permission to visit his hospitalized mother in Fès and returned within an hour. Adams scored his first-ever AFCON goal in the match against Mozambique.
Deputy captain Osimhen scored twice in the encounter, taking his tally to 34 goals in 50 appearances for Nigeria, just three short of Rashidi Yekini’s long-standing national record of 37 goals.

All 26 available players took part in Tuesday evening’s training session at the Sardienne Complex, with defender Ryan Alebiosu continuing his recovery.
The Super Eagles will travel to Marrakech on Thursday ahead of their quarter-final clash on Saturday against the winner of the match between Algeria and DR Congo.
