Defensively, the Super Eagles have been equally impressive. Calvin Bassey and Bruno Onyemaechi have combined solidity with attacking thrust, while Bright Osayi-Samuel shone at wing-back in the quarter final victory over Algeria.
Centre-back Semi Ajayi opened Nigeria’s scoring account at the tournament against Tanzania, underlining the team’s threat from all areas.
Nigeria will be without suspended captain Wilfred Ndidi, but the mid eld pairing of Onyedika and Frank Onyeka offers enough steel to protect the defence, allowing Iwobi the freedom to orchestrate play.
