The elder sister of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Yeye Dupe Adeleke-Sanni, on Friday, distributed 50 minibus, deep freezers, grinding machines, sewing machines, and other items to women for their support during the governorship election.

Speaking at his hometown, Ede, during the distribution, Governor Adeleke lauded the gesture by his sister, saying that the family of Adeleke is known for such kindness.

He said, “I am happy to associate with my sister and mother as she keeps the family tradition growing. This is a very commendable action.

“I know this is entirely a private venture. This is a challenge to all well-to-do Osun residents. We must support the poor, the weak, and the challenged.

“Society grows best when we love our neighbours as ourselves. This is a tradition in my family and I am happy my sister is pulling this true,” Adeleke said.

The founder of Yeye Dupe Adeleke Foundation, Chief Dupe Adeleke Sanni, stated that she grew up learning how to extend support to people.

She said, “I am doing this foundation to appreciate what Osun women did for me during the governorship election. This is the way we were brought up. That is why we must be kind to the people, especially the less privileged.

“I have so many people in Adeleke University and High School that I am sponsoring. We are so used to helping people because our parents trained us that way. Our hearts will be troubled whenever we fail to help the people,” she added.
